Something about you is attainable
and yet feels, feels so unreachable.
You're kind to me like no other girl
that I know, but only 'cause your manager said so.
Your voice calls for a second till
and I fall madly head over hills.
I'm 3p short, you let me off.
You probably think that I'm a nob.
Blonde hair and blue eyes are
things sung about too much,
but that's why you're so 'girl next door'.
The way you scan my Nectar card;
it leaves me in no doubt, Sainsburys is my favourite superstore.
I pick up Kerrang! magazine
'cause my band is on page sixty three.
You're not impressed, no you don't care.
I'm leaving with orange bags full of despair.
Blonde hair and blue eyes are
things sung about too much,
but that's why you're so 'girl next door'.
The way you scan my Nectar card;
it leaves me in no doubt, Sainsburys is my favourite superstore.
Checkout girl,
you are my world.
Checkout girl,
you rock my world

Best to avoid a joker like him.
If he hasn't figured his own mind out,
letting him tangle with yours just ain't a good shout.
For sure, he'll make you feel euphoria and flourishes;
that deep blood thump.
Don't be fooled it's momentary, to him it's scary, secondary.
Best to avoid a player like him.
He's got some issues with self esteem
that manifest on the nightclub scene.
A quick question, can't stay long,
oh those shoes look comfortable.
Yeah he knows the ritual, the social conduct; get you drunk.
For sure, he'll make you feel euphoria and flourishes;
that deep blood thump.
Don't be fooled it's momentary, to him it's scary, secondary.

Caught in your spin, hopelessly
clawing at my own skin.
I see your smile, through your smile.
It's so vile.
Your web glistens for all to see,
dripping in spite and hostility,
check your deluded reality.
You think you've got game, you think you've got tact.
Spit me your venom I'll claw it back.
Bored of transparent duplicity.
I roar in waves contoured like
this coat I wear, where I go.
I see your smile, through your smile.
It's so vile.
(I'm stalked by abjection undermining intention, a lack of conviction and no self-preservation).
Your web glistens for all to see,
dripping in spite and hostility,
check your deluded reality.
You think you've got game, you think you've got tact.
Spit me your venom I'll claw it back.
Bored of transparent duplicity.

Satisfy yourself with a fawning desire.
Deify the upper class because of their attire.
The only way to live is perpetually
Out of reach so content yourselves with what’s on your T.V.
We glorify a lifestyle championed as reality,
when it can’t be further from the lives of the majority.
Is everybody happy just to sit back and watch
a bunch of self-entitled climbers tally up another notch,
to accommodate an extra figure on a receipt.
from an accountant sending money to be left out at sea?
I’m tryin’ to get my head around ‘#selfie’,
Geordie Shore and Made In Chelsea;
Inspiring a generation to become
blissfully unaware of what’s going on.
We glorify this lifestyle championed as reality;
we know it can’t be further from the lives of the majority.
Is everybody happy just to sit back and watch
a bunch of self-entitled climbers tally up another notch,
to accommodate an extra figure on a receipt
from an account sending money to be left out at sea?

You always said that you wanted a song
and you know the truth is mine only work
when something's gone wrong.
So now here I am sitting at my desk,
writing down some feelings I've suppressed.
I don't know where to start to do justice.
So long, I had the time of my life
and I never thought I'd have to say goodbye;
I wanted it forever,
just you and I.
Days go by, I'm not forgetting
what you sound like
and I know it's just one of those
things in life but it sinks me.
Oh I just wasn't ready.
I focus on all the bad things
to make this suck a little less
but time shoots me right through the chest.
Now what I thought were the worst things
feel just like the best.
Give me all the inspiration
I need to be
that "anguished composer";
it's seeping into my bloodstream.
It kills me to think and I carry on,
continue to sink
'cause it writes the best songs.
I had the time of my life
and I never thought I'd have to say goodbye;
I wanted it forever,
just you and I.
Days go by, I'm not forgetting
what you sound like
and I know it's just one of those
things in life but it sinks me.
Oh I just wasn't ready.

I need a house and I'm waiting for the government
to help me out,
but we're trapped in bureaucracy;
it's a farce, we'll all starve.
Everyone can see this inefficiency.
It's all;
aristocracy;
plutocracy;
oligarchy.
I've got no money and I need to live
but the ruling class they just don't give.
It's all spin, Orwellian, totalitarianism.
They're surreptitious, duplicitous
and the words they speak make me nauseous.
They've got no social conscience.
This economy; time for more austerity.
This establishment; not for any fulfillment.
Can we just live?
